UK "Fun" Slalom...

KA Ambassador Daniel Macauley gives us a brief insight into the growing trend in the UK for informal "fun" Slalom racing. It is really encouraging to see these low key competitive events happening...

"Fun slalom racing is really taking off in the UK at the moment with lots of informal clubs popping up all over the place. Most of the clubs operate on an e-group format where the time and venue will only be called once the wind direction and strength have been established. This means that there's pretty much always wind at the races and you always compete at the best location for the prevailing conditions. You don't need full on race kit and it's a fun way to improve your general speed and gybing skills. This year I've been using KA Koncepts in sizes 5.7, 6.4, 7.3, and 9.3. I find that there's more than enough range in this quiver to cover me for all conditions. I also find that the Koncepts work particularly well over short courses where a light sail with easy rotation for gybing makes a world of difference".
